Description
Following the trial court's denial of his pre-trial motion to suppress, appellant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of possession of cocaine weighing less than twenty-eight grams. The trial court found appellant guilty and assessed punishment at confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a term of five years. On appeal, appellant complains that the trial court erred in denying his motion to suppress. We affirm. In his sole point of error, appellant asserts that the trial court erred in denying his pre-trial motion to suppress evidence of his possession of a controlled substance since the evidence was obtained as a result of his illegal detention. The trial court conducted a hearing to determine the issue of the legality of appellant's initial detention and subsequent arrest. A recitation of the testimony adduced at that hearing is in order.
